And while we're on the subject of boners....

Boehner Enlists Bloodhound to Look for Stimulus Jobs, Forgets They’re in His Home State

Quoth the congressman:

"With Ohio’s unemployment rate the highest it’s been in 25 years, I’m pleased that federal officials stepped in to order Ohio to use all of its construction dollars for shovel-ready projects that will create much-needed jobs."

The "o" and "e" in Boehner's name when placed side by side become what is called a diphthong. To wit:
Diphthongs are types of vowels where two vowel sounds are connected in a continuous, gliding motion. They are often referred to as gliding vowels. Most languages have a number of diphthongs, although that number varies widely, from only one or two to fifteen or more.
The congressman insists that his name is pronounced "bay-ner". I am here to tell you that there is no word in the English where the diphthong "oe" is sounded like a long "a". So once and for all, his last name is pronounced the same as what he is...a "boner".
